I'll say more but just to say...wow!! Your writing is just soooo moving and wonderful and utterly personal to you. Just like your room. This is such a beautiful read, Cyrene 🌻☀️
Wow, thank you so much, Janelle!!🥹 That means the world! Words like this really encourage me to keep sharing so thank you. & yes I’d love to hear more of your thoughts 💛🥰
I've just been listening to your audio version :) It's lovely to hear your voice.
I read lots of brilliant writers here on Substack (I'm really loving finding creators!) But this particular piece of yours did stop me in my tracks. You've been so generous and honest sharing your own specific experiences and history. And anyone who reads this learns so much about you. That's a vulnerable thing to do and I'm very inspired by this.
But you've also tapped into bigger universal truths. "The oddest things end up meaning the most." //
"So, what is life really about?
It’s really about the inside jokes and the offers of a cuppa and the normal evenings with the comfortable silences."
I love how you've structured it too (I need to find this episode of The Repair Shop!)
All your little observations and examples make me smile or give me goosebumps. It makes me want to tune in my own life even more.
Janelle🥹 I cannot even explain to you how much this comment means or the joy it’s brought me. Wow. It just cuts through the self-doubt, I was hesitant to share this piece & you’ve made me so glad I did, encouraged to write more, & even more excited to share more of my writing on here.
I’m struggling to find words honestly but thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for reading my writing & thank you for taking the time to share these wonderful, kind thoughts!
I hope you do notice more of those little joys of life🌻☀️💛
Thank you so much for this 💖 your writing is so beautiful and it just encapsulates so many things I feel I've been trying to learn too. It's those little moments of joy that have kept me alive and kept me moving forward in some really tough times the past few years - and I've never felt able to express them in a way that does them justice. You have such a gift for bringing things to life with words xXx
Thank you so much for reading this & for these kind words, Helen! It's so important to hold onto those little, simple joys. I'm very glad you've been able to do this through rough times you have faced/are facing, it's helped me in a similar way. For me, writing is a huge one though, & knowing my writing has helped someone, put something into words for them, or taught them something brings me so much purpose & joy. So thank you!!💗 xx
